Different types of abuse
There are many different ways people can be hurt or abused. Some are more obvious than others. These can happen to anybody, regardless of age, gender, sexuality or background. These might include:
- Domestic abuse
- Coercive control
- Sexual violence
- Forced marriage
- So-called honour-based violence
- Female genital mutilation (FGM)
We often live with the aftereffects of these experiences. For more information about this check out out Trauma and PTSD page here.
