Swansea Bay Services

Mental Health Sanctuary Scheme

The Sanctuary is an out of hours service that provides practical and therapeutic, holistic person-centred support to people at risk of mental health crisis in Swansea and Neath Port Talbot.

It is open 7 days a week, 365 days a year, from 6pm until 3am.

The Jac Lewis Foundation

The Jac Lewis Foundation provides counselling and support to people who are vulnerable to suicide and people bereaved through suicide.

Mental Health Football in Wales (MHFW)

MHFW is for adults in Wales with lived experience of mental ill health using football to connect and use as a positive tool in managing mental wellbeing.

RCS - In Work Support Service

RCS’ In Work Support Service offers free and rapid access to confidential support and therapies including counselling, CBT and physiotherapy, to help you get back up and running. They provide one-to-one support to help you manage stress and build resilience, reduce anxiety, improve your physical health and make positive changes at work.

SCVS - Mental Health & Wellbeing Volunteering Project

The Mental Health & Wellbeing Volunteering Project works with volunteers to support anyone that has been affected by mental ill health. Based at SCVS, working from locations across Swansea and Port Talbot, volunteers are recruited, vetted, trained and supported to offer social support for individuals.

Neath Port Talbot Services

Neath Port Talbot Mind

Mind Neath Port Talbot is a local mental health charity, providing advice and support to empower anyone experiencing a mental health problem.

Neath Port Talbot Mind - Active Monitoring

Active Monitoring Supported Self-help, is a six week programme with individual support from a practitioner.

Your practitioner will arrange a weekly call or online session offering support and guidance in your chosen pathway. They will keep in touch with you offering information, workbooks and strategies for you to try.

Pathways: anxiety, depression, stress, feeling along, grief & loss, self-esteem, managing anger and understanding menopause.

MIND Swansea

Swansea Mind is a mental health organisation based in the city of Swansea in South Wales, UK. They are part of Local Mind Associations in England and Wales.

Swansea Mind - Active Monitoring

Active Monitoring is a 6 week guided self-help programme that aims to help people better understand and manage their emotions. It’s a low-level form of support where over 6 weeks you’d work through a series of materials and exercises, with a short call from a practitioner each week to support you through the process

Swansea Wellbeing Centre

Community space offering a large and beautiful hall for classes and workshops, a bright and uplifting studio for talks and group meetings, cosy treatment rooms for 1:1 therapy & treatments.

Adferiad - Seibiant Service

Providing respite and support to carers/families of people with mental illness.

Carers Opportunities-
Providing 1-to-1 support and advice , Carers Group – providing invaluable peer support alongside information sharing and guest speakers .

Service User opportunities-
The service offers support and activity opportunities to service users on a short term basis with the aim to promote independence and providing respite to families and carers.

The Mind, Body & Spirit project aims to improve the health & wellbeing of carers aged 18+ living in Swansea

Goleudy - Connect Project

In Connect we aim to:

  • prevent re-entry into the Homelessness cycle.
  • increase social inclusion in the community and assist members in making informed choices.
  • enable people to work towards greater independence and live as fulfilled lives as possible.
  • maintain good Mental Health and a sense of Wellbeing in all our members.We do this through activities and events which are informed by clients.

National charity for women and families affected by Postpartum Psychosis.

APP works to: enable women and families to meet and support each other; develop specialist information, train health professionals; conduct research; raise awareness; fight stigma; and campaign for better services.

The DPJ Foundation

Supporting those in the agricultural sector with poor mental health by providing support, spreading awareness and training those in farming to be aware of poor mental health and its issues within the sector.

Heads Above the Waves

Raising awareness and straight-up advice on lots of issues including depression and self-harm in young people, with real-life stories.

Mind Infoline

Provides information on a range of topics including types of mental distress, where to get help, drug and alternative treatments and advocacy.
